This is the very first episode of the Medical Author Chat. I recorded this conversation with Paramedic, educator blogger, and humorist Kelly Grayson before I knew the Medical Author Chat would become a podcast. Originally posted at EverydayEMSTips.com October 6, 2009.
Paramedic Kelly Grayson discusses his book, En Route: A Paramedic’s Stories of Life, Death, and Everything in Between. Listen to Kelly in this audio interview with the EMS author, blogger, and educator explain his reasons for writing the book and how it was written. Kelly also shares one of his favorite stories from the book and describes his writing style.
Kelly concludes the interview with tips for other paramedics that are aspiring writers. You can find more about Kelly and read his blog A Day in the Life of an Ambulance Driver.

I picked up his book not too long after it was published. I was looking for something to read when the nights got long. I finished the book in one sitting. I was completely enraptured and enthralled with the book. It was easy to follow and each story made me feel as if I was there, watching as a bystander to all that was going on.
I am working on my own set, not sure what it’ll be called yet, but I’m slowly putting my words on paper…this should be interesting!
I still have to read Kelly’s book, but it is high on my list.
Keep me posted on your progress.
I will, thank you.
